I haven't listened to it all the way through in a while but I remember thinking the first half is pretty solid. Like the first 7 songs are all pretty solid.
Another possibly unpopular opinion, I think 'Kill 'Em All' is their best album.

"Kill 'Em All" is my favorite too.
Master may be their "best" but Kill Em All is what I listen to most.
I love Metallica. Their fan club is free now. I won autographed posters from their 30th Anniversary shows a few years ago. They just picked me at random!! I love every one of their albums. The demos for DM and the ep were really good. The new album sounded refreshshing. James Hetfield sound better vocally than he ever has. The only drawback I've seen is that their going to start doing those ridiculous "Meet & Greets" at their shows.. I hope they hit the area next year! I will definitely vote for Local H to open for them..
Anybody have New Wave of British Heavy Metal '79 Revisited in FLAC? I have it at 160. I'd like to compare to see if the iffy quality is bit rate or if it was the recordings on some of the tracks.
You could make a pretty good Loaded album using the best songs from the two discs. After that though...eh, it's debatable.
St. Anger has terrible drums, Death Magnetic is blown out, and I still haven't committed myself to listening to Hardwired... to Self-Destruct all the way through.
