Kevin Davis you obviously dig it. How are the long songs? I noticed a lot of tracks with very long run times.

They're great! I only discovered Kurt with this record so the track lengths weren't jarring to me, but to me they work similar to Neil Young and Crazy Horse tunes--they have that same stoned, sluggish ease to them--never overlong, just unhurried. The album continues to get better for me the more I play it.

This guy is great -- the idiot from earlier in this thread who claimed to have been unmoved by "Smoke Ring" is long dead, that record and its follow-up are both superb. Very excited for the new one.

I used to freelance semi-frequently, and so I still get a lot of press releases in my gmail from persistent agents. When they look interesting, I check them out. Here's the one I got today promoting KV's April show at HOB. Kim Gordon wrote it. It's great.

Word, Kim.

I feel a weird kinship with Kurt Vile like I haven't with an artist in a while. The guy speaks a lotta truth.

I know what you mean. I don't put on his music enough (I don't own any physical copy of any KV records) but every time a song like "Waking on a Pretty Day" comes on, I stop and take notice of the music and everything that's going on around me.
