Custard Pie. :bammer:

Is that Stand Back a Crowes song? A cover of the Allman Brothers tune?

Pastoral and Words You Throw Away last night in Boston...first time in 21 years for Pastoral, first time in over 25 for Words...bummed I chose Hampton Beach on Saturday for my show instead of that...

That being said, if those are on the table, NOTHING is off the table...guess they'll just have to play Lifevest Saturday night to make it up to me for playing Pastoral a show early

Thanks for the links a few pages back MattA75! So many goodies to grab! Love BC and it's a shame they're not together anymore. I am grateful for the amount of music they recorded. They've always been one of those bands that hits me in the same sweet spot as the Stones or Zeppelin. I go through phases with bands and finding this stuff has decided who I'm finishing the Summer jamming to. I've got the Norfolk 97 and a London 97 shows and will link them to Google Drive if anybody wants them.

RM surprises me on a daily basis . In a good way... :luv:

Due to a last minute change in plans, I ended up at the Portland, ME show last night instead of Hampton on Saturday night.

Fucking Fear Years for the first time in just under 25 years :bammer: :bammer: :bammer:

http://www.crowesbase.com/songlisting.cfm?SongID=117

That alone probably would've made me leave happy, but add in a John/Rich/MFF only version of Cursed Diamond, finally getting Better When You're Not Alone, and how great everything else came off (aside from the crappy Bob Marley cover they did that really ground things to a halt), and I was ecstatic last night.

Go see this band...give them a chance...you won't leave disappointed. Hogg is killing it right now, and they've finally learned to turn Rich down a bit to let Hogg and MFF be heard more clearly.

And the great thing is, is you can tell they're still working things out as a band, but I've never seen so many smiles on stage as I did last night...such a different vibe from a lot of the post 2006 or so TBC tours

Listened to the Gorman Celebration pod yesterday and blasted their best of 90-99. I'm about to head down the rabbit hole. Should I go chronologically? The New Orleans session sounds thrilling, has that ever been leaked? And are there a couple of live shows I should get?

I nearly saw these guys in 08-09 in London but I was just too knackered that day. Brixton wasn't sold out and it was a mile down the road. Sigh.

Id say start at the beginning.

Go in this order as much as possible

Shake Your Money Maker
Southern Harmony
2-6-1993 Houston
Tall (from the Lost Crowes)
Amorica
3-22-95 New York
12-19-95 Atlanta (Just put up on Youtube in full, audio only unfortunately)
Three Snakes and One Charm
Band (the other disc from the Lost Crowes)
By Your Side (plus b sides: Grows a Rose, It Must Be Over, Smile, Peace Anyway...there's not another record in their collection that just SCREAMS out for the b sides to replace some of the crap on it)
Lions (keep in mind this was the album coming off the tour with Page, and the Zep influence becomes clear on about 2/3 of it...the other 1/3? YEESH)
Freak N Roll: Live From the Fillmore 2005 (not the best show from that reunion run, but probably the easiest to find)
Warpaint
11-3 or 11-4-08 New York
Before the Frost

Cheers Matt. I'll start the journey but I'm going in slowly. I'll report back occasionally.

Looking forward to this - you and I have similar tastes in music so I think you'll really dig it.

Interested to hear which studio album really jumps out at ya.

Great show in Grants Pass last night, despite a pretty weak turnout. Still nice that they did a show in Southern Oregon. As Marc Ford told us after the show, "You gotta be somewhere, right?"

Killer set. Bewildered>Pastoral was incredible. Can't wait to see these guys again, hopefully soon!

I guess 'Black Crowes tribute bands' only suck if Chris R isn't in them

"As the Crow Flies"

Yeah, good luck with oven mitts, Oddley, Andy fucking Hess (and I don't mean that the same way as Marc Fucking Ford) and maybe Luther.

Rich R said it best in response: "I've got Marc Ford"
