The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
This recording of Exit does circulate (I'm pretty sure the version they demo'd for Tall later on does not), along with a couple of the other Kingsway songs
There is a TON of unreleased Black Crowes material out there...some of it was compiled on the "Archer's B Sides and Beyond" collection back in the days of CDR trading, though a lot of that was officially released stuff (hence the "b sides" title). The Kingsway Session was it's own thing. The original Band album was its own thing. All the Tall recordings and demos. The 2005-2007 studio sessions. The 1996 session that featured Nothing Love Everything and Spider in the Sugar Bowl Blues. Random one off songs like Everybody Has Scars (3 Snakes era).
Most of this stuff is up on Youtube and I'm sure if you dig for it you can find download links.
This is the worst record in the catalog and it isn't particularly close
The two ballads are the best things on there and they don't hold a candle to Oh Josephine, nevermind a song like Descending, Girl From a Pawnshop, or Ballad in Urgency
I actually agree with liebzz, it's exactly what I was expecting
Funny, I enjoyed the album. Would I put it up against their best stuff? Certainly not. Would I rate it highly compared to other music I have heard this year? Probably, and it’s not because the other music is disappointing by any stretch. I think whatever that songwriting machine they’ve got going where they can crank these things out is working, even if the connection to it isn’t as strong as their other albums, if that makes any sense. I am not a super fan though I did so the journey and love their music, and from a first listen that would be somewhat superficial I myself am satisfied with it.
I would put it in line with one of the many Watt albuns we’ve been talking about the last few years with not so much the shine, but the straight forward unmistakable nod to reclaiming the glory days. Nothing here is going to move the ball forward in finding new spaces for The Black Crowes, it if you can find some comfort in an album that is them by the numbers you could be happy.

All i want from the crowes is their good ol fashion Rock n Roll.
Couple bangers but a big fat "meh" from me. They're usually good for some rollicking good tunes, riffs, big jams, soaring vocals but this one is kind of just there.
I take it back. I just gave this the ol' 50 and sunny ski test.
Had a great time.
IT definitely lacks true black crowes personality. There is no second guitarist that pushes Rich to play better, or rip amazing solos over his perfect rhythm.
And the drummer is just there playing the parts. No charisma in his playing whatsoever. The Robsinsons finally figured it out for themselves....strip the crowes of personality and hire faceless players to back them up - to less than ideal results.
That being said, the following songs are fun as hell:
Rats and Clowns Waiting and Wanting Dirty Cold Sun Bleed it Dry Flesh Wound - This one sounds like an E street band attempt!

Man, Linda (The Archer) was great. I did several trades with her and she ALWAYS threw in extras with her own personally-designed jewel case cd covers. And then she just disappeared. Never heard from her again. I traded her stuff so much and got so much good stuff in return from others. And learned to throw in extras, just because.
