Lightnin' Hopkins is fun, but it's disposable. Star Me Kitten was one of the last songs on Automatic that really clicked for me. Now it's one of my favorites. Sexy as hell.

"Sexy" is a perfect word for "Star Me Kitten" -- the perfect atmospheric lead-in to "Man On the Moon."

"Lightnin' Hopkins" is forgettable.

I don't know about this "forgettable" talk. The funky hop? The tribal holler?

Do I want to dance, or do I want to sit wistfully? Both can be pretty great. I'm voting for Lightning Hopkins, though.
