The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
Revisiting Being There for the first time in a few years is proving really insightful. All the parts are there of everything that came after. They just refined and zeroed in on certain elements as time went on and they explored more styles in depth.
Being There is fantastic. I go back and forth between that and YHF as my favorite. I know i SHOULD rank YHF higher but Being There is damn near perfect. Catchy all the way through with some of the wilco weirdness dripping through it.

Some of the uptempo songs can go. The moodier pieces are amongst their best material ever.

Monday and Got You are both phenomenal (even if Monday is a blatant rip of Rebel Rebel).

Being There is the first Wilco album I owned, and I f’n hated it. For a long time. YHF was way better to me. But as I’ve aged, it’s grown on me to the point where I’d choose that album above the rest, I think.
