And then yeah, it’s similar to SBS because of how straightforward everything is, and how the musicians play off each other, rather than trying to fill out space around the Jeff/Glen show

I've been meaning to ask you, but can you possibly shed any insight or light onto the SBS/Cruel Country type recording process and the alternative, which I assume is laying down instruments individually and tweaking the boards? How about when a band records on a stage but the production comes across sounding like a studio thing? Thinking of things like Time Fades Away. In live recording like this, are there multiple takes or is what we hear truly, unedited live music?

i was thinking this is EXACT thing while i was on my walk listening to Big Thief...not that i know if they recorded their albums live. i wouldn't even know how to tell, or what to listen for.

I completely changed my mind about this album. I almost listened to nothing else last week. This might be my favorite since AGIB.

Sometimes it's worth it to take the ten minutes or so to really bask in the chaos/harmony that is Spiders (Kidsmoke)

100% This feels like an important record and I didn't think Wilco could do it again.

I listened to this driving cross country, California to North Carolina, and it was an absolutely sublime experience.

it's a stellar driving album. Also feels super relevant given national headlines.

I like it a lot but it's so long I never get through it. Agree best album in 10 years or more.

Also curious to hear your interpretations of this line:

“If it was up to me, I would’ve rejected the idea that money could keep you poor.”

i imagine he'll play a mix of solo and full-on wilco material.

handshake drugs - i love this song so much. it might be my favorite wilco song.
bird without a tail / base of my skull or ambulance - can't go wrong with either
bombs above - i really liked this one off of WARM. oh, also let's go rain

Bird Without a Tail is pretty...Base of My Skull is where it really takes off, but that's an instrumental. Not sure how he would pull that off in Chris's living room.
