Yeah, it was fun. We had friends over and I bought the TV out into the front yard set up with 2 satellite speakers and a sub. Lots of effort for a 30 minute set though. But at least everyone walking by the house got to hear the show.
We did youtube support acts as well: Camp Cope on KEXP, Wedings Parties Anything and then some of The Oils on Goats Head Island. It was a good (if messy) evening.

Wife's best mate's 50th bday weekend. 3 days of too much alcohol. But yes, lots of fun.

I'm sitting here at work listening to Double J radio and being NAIDOC week and "Oz Music Month" they are playing a ton of tunes by Aboriginal artists in language.
I can honestly say that "Absolutely Everybody" in Noongar or whatever language this is is fucking atrocious. Not that it was a good song to start with of course.
Having lived "up north" for a number of years in a particularly artistic and musical community I think I can quite honestly say that, in general, I am not a fan of aboriginal musicians. There are of course some great ones (Warumpi Band, Pigram Brothers, some Kev Carmody stuff etc) but overall it leaves me underwhelmed.

Yothu Yindi were pretty dope, tho.
Fun fact - "Treaty" was actually written by members of Yothu Yindi, Paul Kelly and Peter Garrett. It became a big hit only after being remixed as a dance track. Still a banger though.

I had to do a 450km round trip for work today and had to hire a car. I picked up a random usb for tuneage and had the best time rocking out.
Paul Kelly's Gossip to start (still my fave of his by some way) into Lo2L to get me there. If ever I need to remember why PJ are my fave band this album here is my go to.
On the way back a 2 hour long Oil's mix I made from 78 to 90.
Excellent music to accompany a long day's driving in outback Aus.
And here's a cow and a Boab tree and a sunset for y'all...
