Been on a big INXS binge lately. Somedays I think they're the best band to come out of Australia. The run of Listen like Thieves, kick and X is so dirty sexy. Massive dirt pop music with sax. When it hits, it hits such a sweet spot that not many bands even try to strive for.
Saw them a lifetime ago on the first leg of their NA Kick tour playing a 5,000 seat venue. Sweaty fun. Next time thru town six months later they were playing to 18,000 in an arena.

I sent Camp Cope a message on FB earlier this week asking about the possibility of adding an AZ show next month and got a response from G Maq five minutes later.

Don't wanna flood this thread with Camp Cope talk, but they announced this morning that they finally have a distributor for North America. It'll be nice not have to pay $50 for their next one.

Camp Cope's bassist Kelso put out a few tracks. She's not exactly the songwriter G Maq is, but I wouldn't mind them exploring this dream pop/shoe gaze vibe.

There isn't a band going around at the moment who I am more looking forward to putting out new music than Camp Cope.
I mentioned before that I saw them recently opening for Against Me! at a local pub. They only played for 40 minutes but they sounded sooo good. The newest one ('Keep Growing') is a corker* and bodes really well for album #2. I spoke to the merch chick on the night and she said she wasn't aware of them doing any other recording at this stage, just touring and grinding.

Pumped for Camp Cope's summer U.S. dates.
Feels weird to spend hundreds of dollars on a 3-date road trip to see what will amount to probably three 30-minute sets, but I'm hoping for some in-stores or solo sets from G Maq along the way.
Their debut is probably my favorite album of the past 5 years.
I didn't end up doing this. Work exploded and my wife wasn't so excited about spending two grand on a road trip for about 90 minutes of music.
From their FB and IG posts looks like things started rough (flight delays and missing luggage), but the shows look fun. One of their shows appeared to be in a damp Midwestern basement playing to about 20 people total.

Can't believe I missed that shit.
They played someone's living room here earlier in the year. Missed it of course.

In news that will mean absolutely nothing to everyone here, currently on a binge-listen to the Weddings Parties Anything back-catalogue. I really miss these guys.
Fun fact - I could have used "Revolution Rock - The Clash" as a suggestion on the 'Songs that spawned other band names' Create a Concept Album, for that is where their name came from.
I just watched a youtube clip of a 30 minute ABC program from back in 1999 all about their history and breaking up. They were such a big part of my youth in the 80's/90's.
