It's a weird thing, but I love the Beatles but find McCartney slightly embarrassing.

p.s. Your Flyers are embarrassing this year.

If it makes things any better, I would say that Claude Giroux could be bigger than Jesus.

I don't care about Paul McCartney filling Kurt Cobain's shoes or whatever, I just don't think the song is that great.

This is an excellent movie. I got a little misty eyed for a couple of moments there.

Oh my god this is the best music doc ever maybe. So great.

I love dave grohl.

So many great stories and amazing footage. THe recording with Homme, Reznor and Grohl is stunning. And Super giddy for the Paul McCartney stuff.

The BRMC track at the end.

Basically all of it. This is a great film. So much fun. Neil also has many great one liners.

This is really, really good!

I actually thought the 'new' music kinda detracted from the movie a bit. I mean it was cool seeing all those huge names, just that the songs weren't very good. The whole McCartney/Nirvana song made a lot more sense now. It was basically a song written and recorded out of a jam in one evenings work. Hence McCartneys bad high school poetry lyrics.

I thought that the new songs served their purpose.

It just seemed like a bit of an advertisement tacked onto the end of a really cool story to me.

I didn't think it was totally terrible or anything I just don't think it added to the story much apart from being a good excuse for Dave Grohl to have one of his rock'n'roll fantasy camp jams again.

The "Mantra" track with Grohl, Homme and Reznor did capture my ear though.

Quality of songs aside - It was just very cool and intriguing to watch some of those masters work and create. That is great.

I think Grohl wanted to demonstrate that the Neve console was going to live on. And yes, that he could continue jamming with his contemporaries and heroes and that he could do that while celebrating the memory of Sound City.

Y'all should listen to the Nerdist podcast interview with Dave Grohl. Very interesting chat about the documentary.

That podcast was pretty cool. I wish the interviewers wouldn't talk over each other so much trying to crack a funny for Dave though.

It's a podcast hosted by comedians, it's what they do. It happens in every interview. Lots of riffing and not of the musical kind.

Well sure, in this particular interview it just seemed clumsy to me.

Homme and Reznor really need to record an album together.

.....or get Reznor in Them Crooked Vultures on keys. That'd potentially be some really dark shit right there.
