I only know Callahan's recent(-ish) discography but my first one was Dream River and I loved it immediately. Of the ones I know (which is everything back to Sometimes I Wish We Were an Eagle), the only one that took some getting used to was Shepherd In a Sheepskin Vest, but it's not like it's this dense, impossible thing -- I'm talking 3-4 listens to get get oriented in it instead of 1-2. |
