Julian sounds fantastic on this record. Wish the songs had more upbeat tempo to them though.

Not The Same Anymore is really nice. Bit of a Beatles/Lennon melody here. Already sounds like a classic.

Same. Been through this album a few times, and it's still my favorite. Some really nice finger picking in this one.

I like this record a lot. It's their No Code moment, IMO.

My general feeling as well.

This seems like 1/2 The Strokes & 1/2 Julian solo album.

Won't match the first 2 (or 3 imo) Strokes albums but I'm diggin this album.

It's only been a month but I'm still in love with most of this. Best Julian stuff since Tyranny

That setlist is actually bonkers. So many bangers from their debut.

Listened to Room On Fire today at the gym. First time I've played an entire Strokes album all the way through since their debut. It's fine? I'd give it a C+. Casablancas is a compelling singer, but otherwise not sure what I'm missing?

Solid B for me. Not as good as their debut, but still decent. A lot of the tunes sound like leftovers from that period. Similar dynamics and almost identical tonally.

Between Love and Hate > You Talk Way Too Much > Meet Me in the Bathroom is a bit of a lull, but the album has a strong opening and tail end.
