I'm listening to The Getaway and it's not nearly as bad as Trag would lead us to believe. I actually quite like Josh's playing and his backing vocals are immense.

The top one looks like a bootleg of b-sides at the local record store for more than it’s worth. The bottom one looks like they are tripping out.

I never cared about SA, so im trying to listen a few songs i dont even remember.

So far i can say that Strip My Mind might be my favorite from the album specially because of the solo.

Warlocks and Cmon Girl are sooooo boring

Wet Sand is fine but sounds derivative from other songs. Its not something i crave to listen.

Damn, im so happy these guys released Unlimited Love.

New single. Love it right out of the gate! Seems they’re going for that super narrow stereo spread they used on Californication.

Yeah, this one is good. Lots to unpack.

- I really like how funky it sounds and at the same time, relaxed. Mix between UL and Californication. It has that chillness UL have and that teeth Californication have.

- I really like what Anthony is doing, but sometimes in the verses he gets a little bland and reminds me of By the Way or SA.

- The bridge is interesting. I was expecting a solo or something.

-I really really like the chorus, those guitars are tasty

yeah, its not a bad album. Its weird, it has DM all over it, and it kinda fails at being exiting. But there are many good songs there i like Dark Necessities and Detroit a lot.

Im happy that this new phase with John seems to be a continuation of Californication instead of By The Way. They have more teeth and groove and the guitar sounds and riffs are great

DM sucks the life out of everything. The most static, dull mixes to ever hit the charts.

yeah, it didnt help with the groove of these guys. Also it has all this different sounds but they all sound polish and poppy.

UL sounds so fucking good tough...it made me revisit Rick Rubin in a big way. I hope i can find that Shangri La series he did for Showtime a few years ago.

Only DM didnt mix that album, Nigel Godrich did...

Yes but his programming and production is lifeless too. At a certain point it becomes baked into the tracks.

I dont have a problem with the mix, but more with the production itself.
