Narrative is that they had about 100 songs, and whittled them down to the strongest selection for the two albums. No reason to believe the second one is a bunch of leftovers.

yeah, these are songs that they did in the UL sessions and were strong enough to be released i think.
They were also super productive with Josh K, they released all those b sides for Im With You and had already more songs ready when they ditch him, so it seems the band is always doing stuff.

It looks really bad, worst cover in a long time. These guys had some pretty awful covers, Stadium Arcadium was so uninspired...but this thing is another level of horrible.
