Just caved and bought a new Stadium Arcadium 4LP set for $80. It's the best price I'm gonna see until they do a repress, and even then it'll be like $45. Can't wait to hear the improvements over the digital master.
Been spinning this LP set for a couple days and “a staggering difference” is not at all hyperbolic. One of the best examples I’ve ever heard of a different mastering job offering immeasurable improvements to an album. Where the digital master is flat and one dimensional, the LP set is full of depth, texture, and live band energy. Worth every penny if you’re a serious fan.

honestly, i don't have the best setup for that. My A/D converter is XLR combi jacks, which means there's an extra pre-amp gain stage in the way (and I'd have to dial them exactly the same, otherwise one channel might be a little higher than the other). I'd need something with RCA ins to do it right.

Listened to the first half of Uplift Mofo Party Plan today. They had so much energy back then. Skinny Sweaty Man is one of the most ludicrous songs I can recall.

A personal favorite. What a great album.
This is the album George Clinton produced, right? The energy and the funk and goddamnit Flea’s playing is amazing.

No, that's Freaky Styley.
Uplift Mofo was produced by Michael Beinhorn, same as Mother's Milk.
It's also the only RHCP studio album with Jack Irons on drums.

Thanks. Makes sense actually - I listened to Mother’s Milk the other day and can see some similarities.

I really love Mother’s Milk. It’s the perfect segue between the early years and those prime years that basically encompass Blood Sugar Sex Magik.
I like One Hot Minute and all, but to me RHCP was like the yodeler on the Price is Right coming up the hill but then fall off the cliff before they started over with Californication. Uplift —> MM —> BSSM is an incredible time for this band.
