Album is pretty solid. The low point, as always, are Anthony's lyrics. Not terrible, but we're talking about Mr. Ning Nang Nong Nong Ning Nang here. You know what you're singing up for when you throw on a Chilis (w/ John) record.

A lot of people seem to comment on his it’s laid back, lazy, mellow, etc… What I hear is a band that’s finally mature enough that they don’t have to let their egos drive the music so much. These songs breath into open space in a way they haven’t really done before.
yeah, i could agree. Its the same feeling i had with Californication. Thats why i think i like this one so much.

This is a rare Chilis album that gets better with each listen. Usually you got what you got with them for better or worse. Some songs just seem to be more enjoyable once I know what to expect out of them.

I agree, but that also happened to me with Californication. While that album has more ¨hits¨, this one has a very cohesive sound and feel, and its a joy to listen to.

This would be a really great 10 song album in my personal opinion. However this is subject to change since I keep finding songs I thought I didn't like.
Here Ever After Aquatic Mouth Dance It’s Only Natural Poster Child The Great Apes Watchu Thinkin’ She’s a Lover White Braids & Pillow Chair One Way Traffic The Heavy Wing
Nothing against the rest of the songs. There would be some cool b-sides.

Saw these guys last night at Jazzfest. Festival crowd so people didn't really know what was going on during songs like "Aquatic Mouth Dance" but I thought the new songs sounded really good. Got a handful of them: Aquatic, Here Ever After, Black Summer, These are the Ways, Whatchu Thinkin. If the stadium tour was hitting anywhere around here, I'd go cause I'd love to see a longer set.
This band is just different when Frusciante is there. The energy is higher, and it all feels more cohesive. They're locked in and loving it right now.
