Listening to this now. I have had little interest in the Chillis over the years, kinda cracks me up how much I've enjoyed their 2 x 2022 releases. A late career resurgence indeed!

I went so hard on UL out of the gate. Not sure when we’ll get another album from — john will probably quit again! — so I’m savoring this one a bit more.

i need way more time with the new one, but i can see a few of these songs going into more B side territory. UL feels more cohesive maybe but still i need more listens

Well, one listen. It’s ok, there’s some really cool things happening. I fucking dig UL so much, it’s hard not to compare them since they are from the same recording sessions.
UL is just so much more cohesive. This definitely fella like 8-9 leftovers, and a handful of good tracks. I liked the singles better on ROTDC. Carry Me Home is Fucking killer. Gotta listen again, but standouts for me were:
Carry Me Home Peace and Love Eddie Bag of Grins Copperbelly Tippa My Tongue
There’s some wild ass shit happening on In the Snow, but I can’t get past AK’s spoken word.

A lot of this stuff should probably have been left on the cutting room floor. Kiedis in particular is phoning it in on a lot of these tracks. His input on 'Reach Out' is laughably bad. That said, it must be hard to keep up as a vocalist when the other three appear to be churning out jams nonstop.

I dont hear it really
There might be a few songs that sound like reworked versions of something from UL and other has a B side vibe quality around them, but overall it feels like a very adventurous effort.

Amazon had my preorder from several months back slated for a 10/25 delivery. This morning, I cancelled and reordered - at the same price - and it'll be delivered tomorrow.
