I actually got tickets this morning for The Cure through Ticketmaster without bullshit for the first time in forever.

Hell yeah I'm going to see The Cure. Fitting it'll be another mopey goth fest like when I saw NIN and Ministry at the same place last year.

Was at the tour opener tonight. Get excited if you have tickets. It wasn't perfect, as one might expect on opening night, but they were great. Robert sounded great and was in good spirits throughout. There was a 3-4 song stretch of new or lesser known songs that lost people, but they came out of it with Burn and people were right back on board. It never really let up again after that.

Some real deep cuts got pulled out too. A Thousand Hours! Six Different Ways!

Great show. Go if you can. I can only assume it gets better as the tour progresses.

First time for both since the KMKMKM tour in 1987.

A Thousand Hours played in a lower key, which is (I think) a first for the Cure, which is pretty impressive considering Robbo is in his mid 60s now:

I have no idea what he's actually adding, but I'm also glad he's there.

Hard to tell from these videos but I'd guess the answer is "some textural stuff"

Some of the full shows that have been posted on YouTube this tour are pretty good!

Alright, just secured tickets to see these guys in November. (Actually got early-bird tickets to a festival that hasn't announced its lineup, but I heard from a good source that The Cure will be headlining)

I got to the part where in hyping myself up, I listened to all their good albums already and have to try some of the lesser stuff.

Does anyone actually like Wild Mood Swings? This shit sucks.

It’s not quite as good as the earlier records, at least not consistently, but it’s miles better than anything they did after.

Good b-sides too.

Ridiculously awesome show last night, almost got cancelled because of a sudden thunderstorm, then they went and did the whole set breaking the curfew at Blossom.

I’ll elaborate/post videos later
