There a new song from Chris for a movie....sounds like a Higher Truth outtake.
Of course i hate it.
Christ, that was bland.
He's really pumping out these soundtrack songs. In the last few years we've had The Keeper, Misery Chain, that Michael Bay one last year and now this. Is he gunning for an Oscar?

The Keeper was so bad. I liked the music but the lyrics?
Quote:

Cornell should be banned from doing anything outside of Soundgarden. Apart from Euphoria Morning and some of the Audioslave debut, everything else has been absolute gash. His recent stuff is just so inoffensive. A nothingness.
The 2nd & 3rd Audioslave albums. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th solo albums. That's not a good recent track record.

Speaking of Cornell, anyone listen to the remixed Ultramega OK that came out today? The early version of Beyond The Wheel is on there. Man, that is some quality SG right there.

I havent but im planning on doing it later...the vinyl edition is super nice too.
You know, he recorded a couple of the Scream songs with a band in the studio but he put them behind some really wacky paywalls. I'd love to hear that album done over with a band.

The rock version of Long Gone isn't bad....its not really what I want to hear from him but its catchy.

I actually like Scream.
Just to make you all hate me: I liked it as a whole more than any of his other solo albums. I dunno, just fit my mood for when it was released. WAY fucking better than "Carry On" and that abortion of an MJ cover, that's for sure.

Scream is way better than Carry On for sure. Yeah, the production kinda sucks, but there are some good songs in there. Its a good album in my book.
Maybe I never gave it a truly fair shot. I thought a couple of the songs sounded better stripped down but might have to give it another listen. The only song I will listen to on Carry On is Disappearing Act, rest is pretty bad. Higher Truth had a few solid tracks that I liked such as Worried Moon and Dead Wishes but he had something against playing those ones live. Everything he does without Soundgarden is just so spotty. He probably just needs them to tell him when something blows. Will never really know but something tells me a guy like Ben Shepherd isn't going to completely hold out or tell him he loves and wants to play something he thinks is crap.
Also, I like the Billie Jean cover. I just wish it was never made as a studio release. The version that got released from that initial solo show in Sweden was all that was needed. I like his solo shows but after seeing 5 of them now I doubt I would go again if he came through town unless I saw he was mixing it up a bit more. I know I don't have any desire to hear him play Josephine and Until We Disappear. He does some great covers and stripped down versions of many of his songs. I could get down on a Songbook Volume 2 live record as long as he lets someone else pick the track listing. Even with the last live release he left off some of the best highlights from those shows such as Like Suicide and one of those great versions of When I'm Down. Wouldn't have minded having pillow of your bones, Wave Goodbye or Sweet Euphoria included there. Tell me if I'm wrong but didn't I just list about half of a Songbook version 2 that would be better than the first?
