Just got the deluxe versions of Core and Purple as well as the last Weiland album which I’ve never heard. Been in an STP mood lately so I’m looking forward to listening to these.
I actually broke out my acoustic guitar last night, which is the first time in almost a year it’s even been out of the case, and finally figured out those verse chords in Interstate Love Song and Still Remains.* Now I love SR even more.
*Thanks YouTube

Scott’s 2nd solo album is his best, especially if you can find the deluxe version with the Smiths’ cover of Reel Around the Fountain

I actually don’t have any of his non-STP work. Not even Velvet Revolver.

I really like his first solo album, but yeah Galoshes is wonderful too.
Are they better than (insert solo Eddie Vedder work here)?
Happy In Galoshes is finally up on iTunes. This thread made me check for it again. It’s the long version, and it’s pretty great, Wease. Both of his solo albums are very experimental, but Galoshes is more fleshed out. He wears his influences on his sleeve. Some real Beatles-sounding tracks. The first album cover is a Coltrane homage. There’s a Bowie cover. He was an interesting solo artist. I saw him on both those tours and he’d play songs from those albums alongside STP songs like Tumble in the Rough, Unglued, and Atlanta. Great shows.
His last non-stp album has a band (The wildabouts). The guitar player died of a heroin overdose right before the album came out. I think that really sent Scott back into the darkness because it’s a fun, poppy album with no indication of the regression.

I’ll give them a try. Thanks fellas

You guys ever heard the song “Memories” by Velvet Revolver? It’s a Libertad b-side. It’s on the deluxe version of the record on Apple Music. It’s beautiful. Slash is channeling Estranged and Weiland is pouring his guts out.
No, and it’s a good chance to actually get to listen to Velvet Revolver. For some reason I never got into them; maybe because I wanted Scott to be on Stp and I didn’t cared for Slash and Duff at the time ; not sure.
