It's fascinating to watch Scott come into his own as an entertainer through these performances. Also worth noting how consistent and tight the band was over the years.

Looks like STP will play a show 11/14. No singer named:

I read somewhere that there is some unknown guy from South America they are really happy with. I guess they are doing a Journey.

I really don’t care about mach 3 STP. It’s gonna be as great of an idea as Axl fronted ACDC or that bozo from Van Halen 3. Plus the DeLeo bros hex will ensure this guy dies too young.

Im In if they are doing cool interesting music. Every album of STP is amazing. Of course, a lot of that magic was Weiland´s talent....so, who know if this new singer will bring new ideas to the table or not.

Agreed completely. As long as the new singer isn't distractingly bad there's a good chance I'll enjoy it. The DeLeo bros are great song writers (especially Robert) and I generally love their musical style and playing. So I'm just excited for any new music from them. Hopefully the singer is decent.

That said, I don't expect anything to be as good as STP was with Scott. Or at least not consistently great. Scott was the perfect singer for them. :heartbeat: I just think the DeLeo's and Kretz make great music together.

Would be too fucking hilarious if it was Dave Coutts again.

Just found this great Coutts quote:

“One time I picked up [Dean’s] guitar when we were rehearsing for the album and the guys from the Blues Brothers [Jim Belushi’s version] were in the other room,” he says. “So their band was just playing this bluesy, easy three-chord sloppy stuff. And Dean says, ‘don’t pick up the guitar because I don’t want them to think it’s me that’s playing it.’ I can understand why Weiland got high.”
