There is a new single out. Album drops on march....
Im listening to it right now....mmm sounds like something from Shangri La. This singer really sounds like Scott...its uncanny.

Maybe these guys will enjoy an alice in chains kinda thing with this phase of their career.

It's not bad at all. I do wish he sounded more different than Scott. Any songs I dig off this I'll add to my DeLeo Bros mix with their TalkShow/ArmyOfAnyone/ChesterSTP stuff.

Must be an exciting listen if it came out today and there are no thoughts. :)

I remembered that it came out today about five minutes before I had to leave for work and I knew my ipod wouldn't update fast enough so I'm stuck knowing it's on my computer but I can't listen to it.

I’m excited to get the album and give it a listen but I flew away from home yesterday to take a short vacation and I won’t get the album until I get home next week.

HEArd half of the new album. Nothing sticks out as great yet nothing is terrible. Logical extension from the last album.

Wish to hell they’d changed the band name for this though. Seems disrespectful in a way.

The first half is alright, the second half was OK. Going to listen a couple more times and probably put it in the same place as their last album.

Holy shit - they actually hired a Scott Weiland impersonator to just carry on? That's creepy as fuck. Doesn't sit well with me.

That trend continues for the rest of the album.

I don't think it's terrible but it's not that great either.. a couple songs, forget track numbers, we're decent as I listened through it

It's weird how them, aic, and journey can fund guys that can mimic their original singers so well

It's that layering of vocals with Jerry Cantrell that creates that AIC sound, I don't think their new singer sounds very much like Layne.

Those STP performances are embarrassing for everyone involved.

I feel AIC got it better. Will is similar but he has a different voice and adds something new to the band. And they got super heavy as well.

This feels more like a copy of the original band with a guy who looks, moves and sings exactly like Weiland in 1994.

I guess a Weiland clone wouldn't be bad if they were just touring with old stp material.. kinda like journey does

But to record new stuff n go by stp with a fake scott.. ehh I dunno

I listened a few songs..i dont know what to think. I dont think its bad but at the same its kinda dull and boring. Mostly generic STP kinda songs and it doesnt help that the new guy doesnt bring anything new to the table. Its basically a Scott copycat.

These guys tried twice over the years to go the different singer route with little success. After thinking about this some more I really don’t begrudge them finding someone to keep the sound and vibe of the band intact. Scott let them all down. That’s not their fault and I don’t think they should have to pay for his mistakes.

I can appreciate that. But on the flip side they also weren't able to make things work without him so I would wager he's a very key ingredient.

The thing they did with Robert Patrick was actually on the verge of doing something when they were like, "Oh shit, Scott's back!" and dumped ol' Rob faster than Dave Coutts.

I was listening to Tiny Music last night and it's still my favorite of their albums. I remember being a DJ in college when it came out and playing some tracks off of it. We got so many calls to stop playing it, that it wasn't good...it was hilarious. And yet they liked the obscure Green Day songs about S&M. Who knows.
