I've seen Rog twice now, the wall tour and a tour a couple of years before that. I always have a good time, but I can't get over the feeling of wishing it was the 'real thing' when I hear a guitar solo or someone singing... so is this current tour better than his previous tours and should I go?

I kind of want to go to the Philly shows but I gotta admit I'm a bigger Gilmour vocals fan
dude, no one likes waters vocals over gilmours (I'm talking about songs where dave sings on the albums)

Saw him for the second time the other night and it was great. Obviously miss Gilmour but he surrounds himself with pro's, especially them two lady singers - holy shit some of the best pipes a piping I've ever heard.

well, music wise, other than the handful of new album songs and one or two floyd songs, you've seen everything this tour is offering. so in that sense, if you're going for 'the music', and are not interested in his new record or in the visual presentation, then you'd not be missing out on much. but if you don't mind hearing stuff you've already heard, to me there is no reason not to go. the presentation is by all accounts impressive - i'll find out for myself tonight - and the band is good. i'm with you in that when i've seen these shows i've missed the real 'pink floyd sound' - neither roger nor david in any of their tours i've seen back to '99 have been able to make it feel like the 'real thing' - but it is what it is. floyd were always a band that sounded better together then when apart and i think even they recognize that, they just weren't happy when they were together unfortunately.
plus, roger is going to be 74 here soon. david's in his 70s. enjoy them while they're here and still playing quality shows.

I'm just getting back into PF after a long while of not being able to listen to them. I started rebuilding my collection with my 2 favorites: Meddle and Animals.
