Yeah, this isn't really doing it for me. 2, 5 and 6 are pretty cool but that's it. Nothing on here really excites me in the slightest. It's pretty much a whole album of the side of Kendrick that I don't care about. My favorite part is CeeLo on track 6.

Lyrics and flow are A+. Beat is a little sleepy. I'm sort of ready for Kendrick to work with some different producers. Would love to see him do a whole record with the Brainfeeder crew.

I'm just referring to the occasional quality of Kendrick's voice, not the music overall -- he has this really exaggerated, cartoon-ish mode he goes into every once in a while that's just like nails on a chalkboard to me. It's rare (really, "For Free" is the only example I can think of off the top of my head), and generally I agree that his voice is totally flexible and elastic and stronger for its range of expression.
