I really don't care for this album. More rehashes, too much Tom Morello, and a lot of weak material.

Yea i really can't stand Morello's contributions to the springsteen discography.

Guys...I’m loving it. It’s big, bombastic, and eclectic, and it takes chances. Every song has been a winner so far. Morello with Springsteen sounds weird on paper but I really like how it turned out.

Parts of “The Wall” sound awfully similar to Sting’s “Fields of Gold”

"The Wall" is probably my favorite song on that album.

Ha, of course. I was about to post the three closing tracks are by far the worst on the album.

I'll have to listen to the album again this weekend. I'll admit it didn't get a lot of repeat plays from me, so my memory of it is a bit foggy.

It seems like “Harry’s Place” should be embarrassing...but boy do I love it.

Re: Bruce Springsteen

Springsteen's liner notes, along with having the lyrics in hand, really enhanced the impact of the "The Wall" for me. It's kind of a generic Celtic-sounding folk melody on its own, nothing special musically, but knowing the back story really helped me connect with it. Sometimes exposition works that way, sometimes not...

Interesting. It mostly just makes me want to listen to Fields of Gold though.

"Fields of Gold" is great. I enjoy a lot of songs on that album, actually.

It’s a billion times better than D&D or WB.
