I mean it is because a good portion of the Springsteen fan base rejected those albums post-E Street breakup. The Carlin bio doesn’t go too far into it other than to say Bruce needed a different muse after so much time with the E Street Band, but I think he is cognizant that his material is generally stronger with E Street. There are, of course, exceptions.

The energy of Lucky Town is miles above Human Touch. I recently listened to both and HT is such a plod. It's really only Human Touch, Soul Driver and Real World that I'd care to ever hear.

Lucky Town is stronger, Side A particularly.

I was listening to the '90 Christic Institute Benefit and was taken aback with how much twang he sang with, thankfully he pared this down over the years.

Yeah, I love solo Bruce and almost ordered this show, but when I listened to the samples I couldn't stand the twang. The 2005 Devils and Dust tour shows are where it's at.

Huh, I had no idea it was available on live.bruce and released officially hence the etree link; definitely a more odd selection.
I finally got the Keys to My Success bootlegs on my drive to listen, will give those a whirl tomorrow as I seem to recall some different renditions from the expansive Love, Tears and Mystery set. Agreed it is a fantastic tour.

Listening to the Lost Masters series and Volume Ten opens with a minute long guitar snippet titled Long Way Home which is the main repeated riff of Long Walk Home. Much more noticeable in the Seeger Session tour renditions as the acoustic is not buried in the mix as with the Magic cut but kind of amazing given that the snippet was supposedly recorded between '81 and '82.

Big 10 disc boxset coming November according to rumours. Essentially Tracks vol 2, but themed around 'lost albums' of his career.

He's credited on the new Bon Iver track but I don't really hear it. Maybe that sample at the end?

Tracks vol 2 scrapped in favour of that E-Street Band album he was talking about last year. Single dropping tomorrow if rumours are to be believed, with album coming in October. I'll believe it when I see it!

Hmmmm. I like it.

Bruce continues his superb singing off of Western Stars.

The lyrics and music are a bit ho-hum generic but they also hit an E Street sweet spot.

Can't wait to hear the rest!

This just makes me so happy. Nothing like the sound of the e street band.

Also fuck Covid. This also makes me sad with concern for not being able to see them again.
