But those vocals and lyrics are just atrocious.

I absolutely love the bass, drum and guitar lines at the beginning. I love the dirty, somewhat psychedelic sound to this song. Music like this is typically what I gravitate towards.

Adam's Apple
Same Old Song and Dance

Back In the Saddle

Lord Of The Thighs
Jailbait

Sick As A Dog (I thought I was so badass when I learned this riff and could just groove it)
Rats In The Cellar (check out the version from You Gotta Move below)
No More No More
Seasons of Wither
Kings and Queens
Write Me

They had such a dirty sound live. Never really heard another band sound so dirty, that's what makes Texas Jam so amazing.

That's a good jam.

I actually listened to some of Aerosmith's latest album. It's not that good, but there are a few OK rockers on the first half. The back half of the album was pretty terrible though.

Been listening to this one lately:

Alice Cooper - 'Love It To Death'
Image

----

This is a very good album. I don't really know much about Alice Cooper, but based off this album, the only one I own from him, I may need to get some more of his early work.

This is just very solid 70's rock. It definitely sounds a little dated, but it's raw, and it's rawkin'. There are even some pretty cool jams on it.

This song is pretty cool:

So is this one, but it's 9 minutes, so you'll have to stick with it:

I'm not one to really praise the Eagles, I suppose they have a few songs I don't mind, but "Those Shoes" just came on my rock channel on Pandora, and that song is pretty bad ass. If it's good enough for the Beastie Boys (High Plains Drifter), it's good enough for me.

Any love to T. Rex here?

My wife is addicted to the new show Lip Sync Battle, and the intro is T. Rex's "20th Century Boy". It's quite a catchy tune and it's pretty much been stuck in my head for like two weeks now.

Also, you are wrong about Aerosmith friend. Their 70's work is :nice:

70's Aerosmith is the bees knees. Really up through Pump they were pretty great. Love In An Elevator was their last great rocker. They are still good live even today.

Pretty much. I don't care if it's cool to hate on 'em, nothing can take away how good they once were. Kinda like Pearl Jam.

In my opinion, Aerosmith died a horrible death when they started recording Dianne Warren and Desmond Child songs. There is no fucking excuse for that.

Any fans of Roxy Music? A friend got me 'Country Life" for the holidays. It's pretty good, but can be a bit of a challenge if you are not into the rock opera / glam rock thing that was going back then. You can definitely hear some Eno in there, and like a darker version of The Kinks' rock opera phase.

I like Roxy Music a lot, DV -- I had a thread for them, possibly on the old board. "For Your Pleasure" is my favorite album, and "Just Like You" (from "Stranded") is probably my favorite song.

Not sure if your comment nods to this but Eno was actually a member of Roxy Music for their first two records.

Yeah, I knew he was a member and knowing he was not on the album I got, I could still clearly hear his influence. I'll check out those other albums at some point, after I work my way through 'Country Life'. What do you think of "The Thrill Of It All"? It's a strong opener and got me hooked right off the bat.

Speaking of 70's rock, I had an amazon gift card and figured I'd check out ELO and Yes since they are going in the HOF with PJ. I don't know much about either band, so just played it safe with the hits.

Turns out I know more than I thought with ELO as a good chunk of those songs are classic rock staples. While listening to the CD, I was had a lot of "oh, that's ELO", and "oh, that's them too" moments.

Yes seems ok, I like their earlier stuff more so that the later stuff that is on their hits album.
