I was making my way thru King of the Hill yesterday and I noticed in the credits of the fifth or sixth episode, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter did the score for it. Never really knew of him doing any kind of soundtrack work.

Has anyone around here actually seen the movie FM? Arrow just announced they’re releasing it on Blu-ray and I’m considering grabbing it just for the Dan.

The Dan is doing another round of theater shows where they do complete albums this fall, including the Beacon. They have, however, scratched Countdown to Ecstasy from the list. Glad I went last year.

Alright, I’m in. Grew up in a house where Aja and Pretzel Logic were played constantly, but never gave them much thought. Have gone down a rabbit hole this week. Current ranking of albums I’ve listened to:
Aja The Royal Scam Gaucho Can’t Buy A Thrill Pretzel Logic
Favorite track is Haitian Divorce. I’m just getting started so this could all change.

Oh, you’ve not even gotten to Katy Lied or Countdown to Ecstasy yet. Your list will change.
I’m excited I have someone to talk to about the Dan again since LV left.
So I did actually listen to Countdown to Ecstasy, but I was moving around a lot doing other stuff, so I didn't get to take it all in. I loved the opening track though. I'll give that another listen, and I've just grabbed Katy Lied as well.

If King of the World isn’t in your top five, you’re dead to me.
Your Gold Teeth and Your Gold Teeth II are pure diamonds.

LV got me into Steely Dan. I haven't really gone into them album-by-album, but my favorite tracks are "Bad Sneakers," "Only a Fool Would Say That," and "Third World Man." Although, I think my favorite Dan-related thing thus far is Fagen's The Nightfly.

Mixed feelings on Katy Lied, wease. Black Friday and Everyone’s Gone... are catalog highlights so far, but then some of the other songs are that sort of progressive soft-cock blues rock that are done way better by Van Morrison or early Fleetwood Mac. It’s the most song-oriented album so far. Will revisit and see how it shakes out.
