I absolutely love this band. I'm on to Gaucho now.
This album has a special sound. The playing, the musicianship, the command of the instruments. Sounds just seem to float in and out of each other with a striking grace and control. I'm not sure I've ever heard anything quite like it.

If Aja and Pretzel Logic are the only two SD records I know, where should I head next? Do they have a good rabbit-hole album? Something like The White Album/Tusk/Vitalogy?

Hot take: "Bodhisattva" is the most overrated SD song, and plays to almost none of their strengths.
I like the intro of it, but when it goes to the meat and potatoes of the song, I lose interest. Certainly not the best track on the album. (That would be King of the World, of course.)

The Royal Scam
Just started spinning this. Kid Charlemagne is awesome. It's got a real Stevie Wonder vibe.

The Fez and Green Stranger both sort of went by without much of anything happening. I might just be hitting my Steely Dan limit about halfway through this record.

These and Everything You Did are probably the least interesting moments on the record, imo. Everything You Did is the only one I don't really enjoy tho.
