Here's something... so the first two full listens I gave Boarding House Reach were on headphones. I'm listening to it now as kind of background music on much shittier speakers and it's so noisy and distracting. This isn't that kind of record. This is a record to be absorbed and listened to in the best conditions possible. This is way more Tom Waits than Eric Clapton, if you get my meaning.
I can understand how someone would think this was just noisy nonsense leaning toward totally terrible if one only listened to this casually and without optimum audio. But there's so much happening, so much layering, and so much fun in the soundscape when you have the chance to really dive in and concentrate on it.

When he stops singing around the 1:50 mark, the piano for the rest of the song has a real Vince Guaraldi vibe to it. not a diss, i love Vince Guaraldi, it just immediately stuck out to me upon first listen
