Both albums this year are fantastic. But I’m camping with the fam now and came to say that I listened to Blunderbuss for the first time in quite a while, and it holds up just fine. I do love these new albums but I’ll have to give BB a couple more listens this week. It’s hitting hard right now.

me, my wife, and stepson went to see Jack White last night, and he did not disappoint. it was my 10yo stepson's first show ever, so i made him a sign, which is now gone or i'd post a pic.
it read:
FIRST SHOW EVER! PLS PLAY HARDEST BUTTON (i drew a button because there wasn't room for the word)
i figured he'd play that anyway since i'd been seeing it on setlists, but it's the kid's favorite song.
we managed to get my stepson up on the front rail, and everyone up there was very nice and supportive and looked out for us/him. After the first few songs, Jack walked up to where we were, and acknowledged my stepson and his sign, which was mindblowing for the kid. And yes, they did play it, though it was a few songs later.
i saw Jack White in...2014?...and it was one of the loudest shows i've ever been to. this one was no different. so glad i had earplugs.
extra tired today, but it's worth it.

His appearance in the Rick Rubin podcast is a must. So articulate, so interesting, they discuss not only his love of music but third record, his vinyl plant, he sings a song and Neil Young comes to say hi.
Also, really cool to know Jack was such a big Pearl Jam and Rage Against The Machine fan.
