This guy is just amazing. Perfect companion album to the last one. And he’s really channeling his White Stripes roots here, in a pretty apparent way. Love it.

Is there some sort of anniversary or something for Seven Nation Army or something? For the last week or so, in the few minutes I actually listen to the radio while driving, almost every time they’re playing it. It’s a cool tune and all but is there some reason why it’s suddenly getting multiple spins a day?

It's the Wichita tourism propaganda machine.
Fucking Wichita

Shredding My Velvet is also an objectively incredible song. Damn, this guy has hooked me again.
I haven't listened to the new record yet. But any JW love makes me happy.
Not to give anything away but I’d say the new one is more shredding my velvet and not hidei ho (sp?) which are 2 of my faves, almost like a long lost white stripes album polished up for 2022.

New album is awesome. The last one was fucking incredible.
Pretty much. The new one is very good but it was following a bit of a monster.
I still think it's nuts that we get both in the same year.
This new one was written a while ago, no? Both written over the same period. I kind of see them as almost a double album - a more rocking half and then a softer half. I love them both. The newer one reminds me so much of his earlier White Stripes period, while the former showcases where he’s gone, I think.
