Has there ever been talk of another Raconteurs record?

Really loving this acoustic set. i was expecting something different. More B sides or alternative recordings or just jack completely solo. More of a mix tape of the acoustic songs he's recorded and released, with a few sprinkled in B sides.

That being said - im loving it.

Effect and Cause has always been a favorite of mine.

I did. Sounds great. Not a super impressive package by any means but it sounds great and is a wonderful collection. Well worth it for that version of carolina drama.

How essential would you deem this collection to someone who generally really liked the White Stripes, had zero interest in the Raconteurs or the Dead Weather, and would rate both of Jack's solo albums about a 6/10?

Edit -- I take that back, "Blunderbuss" is probably closer to a 7.

Wait a second -- are these just the previously released versions of the songs? The stream on Pitchfork just sounds like the regular album versions. I was under the impression that "acoustic recordings" meant that these were solo home recordings or something like that, similar to those albums Rivers Cuomo made.

Me too. There are a few of those though. SO not worth it in that sense....

I'm quite enjoying this collection. Hardly essential, but enjoyable to hear them re-presented in this way.
