I think I have the gf talked into going to see FJM in Omaha in April. She was on the fence and I dropped the secret weapon (she likes Fleet Foxes so I told her the connection) and now she is in.

New local bagel shop opened up this week. Went in today for an egg & cheese on a toasted everything bagel and cup of black. They were playing Honeybear (album). And it was a glorious morning.

So is this record blowing up? I seem to be seeing it a lot but I live in a very insulated musical environment so I can't tell. Is there really a FJM backlash?

Yep.

Basically if you liked him before this album came out and everyone else started listening to it and loving it, then you pretty much hate him now.

First thing I thought of when I listened to this album was "Sell out". Now I am on to something new and hip you dont know about.

God I hate hipsters. I get angry when I'm accused of being one. I like what I like and don't give a fuck what anyone else thinks. I'm not 13 I don't try and impress people. The album is great. So is his first one. The dude is madly in love. Love is madness. I relate big time.

PREACH

I haven't listened to the first album yet because I'm still way too into this one. But I've got it queued up for when I'm ready.

At this point, I still prefer Fear Fun, but Honeybear is very good and may have room to grow.

I thought I liked this record but then I found out other people like it.
