Dunno why Snail Mail got posted in this thread but Snail Mail is a much better band than FJM.

that EP she put out is fantastic.

The EP is her best work, unfortunately-some great tracks on the two albums but on the whole hasn't quite hit the same level in terms of consistency.

i'm with you. that EP is the best thing she's done. i like Valentine and all, but it's way more polished than Habit.

Yes! "Headlock" and "Glory" are fantastic songs (the guitar sound on "Headlock" :heartbeat: ) but then "Forever" and "Madonna" are just a little too defanged by the production.

back to Joshua Tillman.

my ranking...

1. God's Favorite Customer / I Love You, Honeybear
2. Fear Fun
3. Pure Comedy
4. Chloe

hard to choose between GFC and Honeybear because i love the songwriting on GFC, and i met my now wife when Honeybear came out, and we were falling in love while sharing a love of FJM.

He's kind of a unique listen for me because I don't necessarily like his stuff much until I pay attention to the lyrics, and then I tend to kind of love it. But I can't just have it on in the background like I can with other stuff I love.

yeah, it's so good. i love Holy Shit.

the lyrics...

Oh, and no one ever really knows you and life is brief
So I've heard, but what's that gotta do with this black hole in me?

those lines simultaneously make me smile and get my eyes watery.

i love it all, really.

My WIFE, on the occasion of her 40th birthday, chose HONEYBEAR as the musical accompaniment for our celebratory dinner. This is the high water mark.

according to a follow-up email, this is going to be a bootleg series of select shows from the current tour.

fun times in Babylon, indeed.
