Great show, better than the show I saw them play for Sleep Well Beast. I do wish they would play Slow Show for me just once, though.

Slow Show was my wedding song, though I have probably said that a few times in this thread.

I also included Slow Show at my wedding, I almost wish I stuck to my guns and included Mr. November too.

It was the song we danced to...our wedding song. I think most people were like wtf?

My wife turned 30 about 2 weeks after we met (our first date) and I was 30 when we met...so she was 29...it just works

Did you play Karen during the cake cutting?

The only lyric that garnered any discussion was made a mistake in my life today.

Not sure how popular this opinion is but I believe I enjoy the alternate Brainy over the album version and the album cut of Terrible Love over the alternate.

Great show last night. Son was a treat. They got rid of Kate Staples and Mina Tindle and replaced them with Zoe (?). She doesn't have the register or strong voice, but she's serviceable.

During the show after Fake Empire Matt ripped his setlist off the stage and gave it to my son. After VCG, the drummer gave him drum sticks. Both guitarists then gave him picks. He walked away with a haul.

I was just behind you, great show! Matt stumbled right between me and the guy next to be while trying to get back on stage during The Day I Died. He was very feisty even for him. The whole deal with the dude with the Michigan hat was pretty cool/messed up. Dude payed $65 for a ticket then about $100 for his Nike Jumpman hat and his Nike polo that is now a souvenir. But he did get plenty of attention from Matt so probably worth it.

I am completely in love with this band. And at this moment, this song is slaying me. I love these lyrics so much. :heartbeat:

It's the way you say yes when I ask you to marry me
You don't know what you are doing
Do you think you can carry me
Over the threshold
Over and over again until oblivion?
It's the way that you're gonna stop needing to tell me
You want me as much as I want you to tell me
I'm over the threshold
Everything is gonna be totally okay until oblivion
I still got my fear
I still got my fear
It's still always you every morning I think of no matter what
How I want you here
I know I am easy to find but you know, it's never me
I still got my fears
It's like a tide in a city lifts me and carries me around
And oh, my mind is made up out of nothing, now
If nothing scares you about me and you, never put me down
Oh my mind is made up out of nothing, now
You won't walk away, won't you?

“Oblivions” - The National

this band has become conventional and predictable. they've lost the tension and angst that was in their earlier albums (both lyrically and musically) and without that they've become boring on record and live.

By that logic most people here shouldn't be on a Pearl Jam massage board

Good point, sorry...

...but why randomly just come into a thread and rain on a parade? If I think a band sucks and have lost it, I'm not going to just walk up to their fans and try to spoil their vibes. Why do that in a thread on a forum. If I see a thread by an artist or movie I don't like (Star Wars), I don't try to discredit others' enjoyment. I just don't get that.
