That is a HUGE CD. How are you going to play that in the car?

Do you think the Beatles were as good as the national?

I am assuming the print run was very limited. I ordered in early November and Amazon listed it as in-stock until the release date in early December, when they were like, "Uh, sorry, we don't have any more." They said they'd keep looking, and it finally shipped Sunday. It's still out of stock on Amazon, though.

Mentioned in the vinyl thread, will repeat here: I've got a download code for The Virginia EP in MP3, first person to PM me gets it.

So, you keep the MP3 code, and I get the vinyl?

I said for the longest time that i didnt like the national because on the couple of songs i had heard i thought the singer sounded too much like the singer from interpol, and i hate interpol. Luckily my wife liked them so i gave them a shot a few months ago and i really like them, im so happy i finally gave them a chance.

Tricky, tricky.

The MP3s have been claimed; better luck next time, everybody!

How can you not thoroughly enjoy an album featuring a song with the lyrics about standing on a coffee table and holding your johnson?

It hits too close to home for me.

I hear you Lenny. I feel that same way when I hear the line "I was afraid I'd eat your brains" in Conversation 16.

That reminds me of the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia episode when the guys think eating people is cool.

Hi Everyone!

Happy New Year! We hope 2013 is getting off to a great start for you. Thanks so much to those of you who were able to join us for All Tomorrow's Parties in December. We had a blast and felt very fortunate to have so many of our favorite musicians in the same place for a weekend. Last year we took some time off at home and started work on a new album, which will come out later this year (we'll have more details on that soon). For now we wanted to let you know about tickets for one of our first shows of 2013 - we'll be playing at the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, NY on June 5th. One of our favorite new bands, Youth Lagoon, will open the show. A pre-sale for fans starts tomorrow, January 16th, at 11 am EST. The link for tickets is: http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/00004A2ADCE1A3F3 and the password for early purchase is AmericanMary. The general on sale is Friday, January 18th at 11 am. We're very excited to play this new room in Brooklyn not far from where we live.

We'd also like to invite you to a brand new version of the American Mary forum which is now living at http://americanmaryforum.com. Mark, our lovely forum moderator, and some of our web design team have worked together to create a new place to talk about goings on with The National, other bands you love, and anything else that's on your mind. Board regulars, we're pleased that this new forum is independent of third party message board platforms, so no one will change things in a way that makes you unhappy. The old board is archived from the web site because we couldn't let all of your genius ideas, like Nationary, be lost forever.

Have a great day & we'll have more news for you soon!

Lyrics finally clicked for me about a year ago. Wherever Sam is, thank you :)
