The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
this pretty much is the perfect setlist. i don't see how they ever top this:
Sea of Love Eucalyptus Deep End (Paul's in Pieces) I Should Live in Salt Demons Don't Swallow the Cap Afraid of Everyone Slow Show The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness Guilty Party Wasp Nest Humiliation Murder Me Rachael Guest Room Slipping Husband Available Start a War Grease in Your Hair Turn Off the House Smoke Detector Santa Clara Rylan Hornets Carin at the Liquor Store Tour Manager Graceless About Today
Encore: Daughters of the Soho Riots Cherry Tree Terrible Love Send for Me Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks
The night before was:
Once Upon a Poolside Tropic Morning News New Order T-Shirt Squalor Victoria Bloodbuzz Ohio I Need My Girl Apartment Story Brainy Lemonworld Sorrow Looking for Astronauts Lit Up Abel Runaway Conversation 16 Alien Crumble (Live debut) Laugh Track Mistaken for Strangers Day I Die Light Years Pink Rabbits England Fake Empire Encore: Weird Goodbyes Mr. November Space Invader Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks
With Vanderlyle being the only song repeated the two nights. No Lucky You though so clearly room for improvement.

The National Matt Berninger and Bryce Dessner of The National join Norah by the fireplace to talk about and play songs from their amazing new album, The First Two Pages of Frankenstein. They fill her in on what it was like to come together as a band while living in far away places, the inspiration for the album, and writers block. Matt's warm baritone inspires Norah to ask for a duet on the first-ever acoustic performance of a decade-old song. Recorded 4/29/23.

The newest Cherry Tree vinyl shipped today. Outside chance it arrives at my house tomorrow, but it’ll be Monday at the latest.
Oohh excitin'
Bryce mentions putting together a live album on the podcast noting how different the songs are in the studio and live, this may not be possible at their stage but if they pull together a tour of smaller venues... oh boy. Listened to Frankenstein yet again over the weekend and it is still tremendous to me.
edit: Really enjoy listening to Bryce talk about music. Also Norah Jones subtly telling Matt to save his voice.
edit2: Around 49:change they discuss not singing to the back of the room... LISTEN MATT!

Saw them last night and it was great. I think my favorite part of the show was the middle of the set where they played Baby We’ll Be Fine, Cherry Tree (so good), and Wasp Nest.
We'll get on a plane this afternoon to fly to Houston to see them again tomorrow night. We actually bought tickets for Houston before they added Tulsa. We’ve not gone to see a show in Tulsa on a week night in a long time. It’s about a 90min drive one way.
Looking forward to tomorrow.

Man, I wish I still went to shows.
I got the Laugh Track LP a few days early but haven’t listened to it yet, I’ll try to give it a spin today. Even though the digital came out like 2 months ago, I still have only listened to the first two singles.

i'm still bewildered by them releasing the song laugh track as a single presumably for no other reason than it's the album title and has phoebe bridgers on it. the song is one of the weakest on both albums.

I feel they like working with artists of other mediums so the support for the 'video' was paramount:

They've hit a pretty solid level of stardom so helping anyone out might be playing a heavy hand.

I’m in Houston for the show tonight. Looks like they’ve been playing Space Invader; I definitely want that one. Would love Cherry Tree or Available or some other oldies. Here’s to hoping!
