I have not listened to this. I want to save it until I have the record. Singles by this band get almost overplayed here on my station of choice so it can take forever to have the single settle into the record once you’re listening to it.
Theyre also playing a brilliant beautiful new festival here this summer.
Cannot wait.
You won’t be disappointed when you listen.
Are you going to finally get to see them this tour?
Nope. The closest they will be to me is Chicago - which is about a six hour drive.

Raz and I are pretty into the national lately. I used to listen a lot by myself before I met her. I put it on the other day and she loves it so now I can enjoy with her. It's nice.

Still listening a lot
Been giving Trouble Will Find Me and Boxer some tries
TWFM seems a little tired.. bored/boring for the most part, though there are some great moments on this album
Boxer is growing on me, and it's definitely better than TWFM, but it also has some very questionable/boring moments, but its highs are higher than TWFM's
Sleep Well Beast might be their most inspired record. They have so much energy and passion and the lyrics and music come together so well on almost every track. There are a few tracks I can't get into but for the most part it's a great album, and in my opinion, their best. Many moments on this album give me legitimate chills no matter how many times I hear them. The Raz loves it the most, too.
High Violet is my second favorite. Its highs aren't as high as SWB, but it is such a consistent, well flowing record! There are seldom any moments I don't enjoy, though they are there.

headed to the show tonight at the beacon in nyc. i’m interested to hear what the new songs sound like live. julien Baker is doing a q&a beforehand.
Going on Friday...I saw setlists...I want spoil you. They seem to be similar over the 2 shows so far. Let me know how it is please and how they are with timing (when movie starts)

the new songs were really, really good. the standouts were hey rosey, oblivions, and where is her head (best of the night).
i’m not sure if every show on this mini tour will be like this, but they had an 8-piece string section, julien Baker, and the Brooklyn youth choir singing.
The new album will be gorgeous. Thematically, it reminds me of The Hazards of Love, with a couple of interludes.
G2T, they showed the film at 8:15, had a Q & A, then an intermission, then took the stage at about 9:10.
