New album on the horizon. Time Skiffs is set for release February 4, 2022, and it's the first album to feature all four members since Centipede Hz in 2012. The band have been working up material since 2018 and at a pair of tours in 2019 and 2021 many new songs were played, more than will be on this album. Avey Tare has indicated that a second album should follow this one with more focus on Panda Bear-led songs (Avey takes the vocal lead on most of Time Skiffs with Deakin singing the closing track).
Overall, the new material reflects a jazzy soft-rock influence, similar to last year's Bridge to Quiet EP or Avey's Cows on Hourglass Pond. The first single is "Prester John," complete with music video:
