Soundgarden: soon to be appearing at a 4th rate metal festival near you!
They aren't selling out the theatres on this tour. It makes me sad. It makes me wonder where the tour for their next album will take them. County fairs? Clubs?

Perhaps this is why:

I'm fine paying $100 for them in a club/theater or good seats in a small amphitheater like these, but I don't know who bothers to take on the cost/hassle of going to a show these days just to sit in the back and wait for Black Hole Sun.

'All Your Lies' is back in the set from last night, which is interesting, and 'Kyle Petty' too. Still, those festival gigs aren't that exciting in terms of the setlist, certainly nothing compared to the late 2012/early 2013 tour sets.

People seem to forget that this band sat defunct for nearly 15 years. Of course their popularity waned. The fact that they play 5000-seat theaters after being gone that long is a testament to what a great band they are IMHO. I'd rather hear new music from them every few years and see them in a smaller venue. I was lucky to catch the Fonda Theater show when KA was released and it was unreal.

Agreed. That King Animal tour killed, better than the 3 post-reunion/pre-KA shows I saw at Vic/Lolla/Allstate. The Fox (only non-fest show so far) looks great. Wish we could make this KC show. I don't think the players in this band are capable of phoning it in.
If anybody needs great KC tix, please see my post above.
