Yeah, these clips all sound like less heavy songs. If I remember correctly there were some bits from interviews around that time where they talked about the new album, saying it would be a bit different and less heavy...

Some of the best stuff on King Animal was less heavy. I like this riff a lot, feels like they’re playing a Smiths song at half speed.

i've had a weird relationship with Live on I-5 where for the longest time i was so disappointed with how bad i thought chris' voice sounded
and as of late it has instead become one of my favorite soundargens
the backing music is top shelf
corrects for all the oddities of the recording studio on the badmotorfinger songs
the superunknown songs absolutely bang
and then there's cool stuff like the helter skelter/boot camp
and chris' ailing voice on some of the tracks bothers me little now
dude gave everything on those tours
management had them playing like 275 shows per year in the early ones
