I was just listening to the one-two punch of John Henry and Hold On, Magnolia yesterday. Damm.

Omit tracks 5 and 6 and I'm right there with you.

You can replace them with the Jason solo demos if that's your thing.

I love "Old Black Hen" -- I wouldn't change anything about that song. The Scout Niblett track I love less, but I appreciate the unique flavor it adds to the record. This is one of my favorite albums of the 2000's -- none of Molina's other work ever came close to hitting me this hard.

The only ones I have are your top two (and "Pyramid" on vinyl). I like them both but I like "Magnolia" way better. I liked "Lioness" and "Ghost Tropic" well enough. I didn't care for "What Becomes of the Blues" at all.

Looking at my list again, I might drop "After the Blues" under the two live albums.

Put me in this camp.

This is also my top 4 in some order I can't decide on.

I love this one from Nashville Moon:

I am kind of sick of the fact that there are so many "oral history" articles popping up nowadays, but I am looking forward to reading this one (on the recording of Magnolia Electric Co.): http://www.goldflakepaint.co.uk/jason-m ... ectric-co/

I love oral histories. I don't want to hear from a writer, I want to hear from the people who are in the story.

Unreleased song out now on a new benefit album; from the Pyramid Electric Co. sessions.

I've meant to mention this 100 times, but there's an authorized biography coming out next month (May 15th in the US); if you order through Secretly Canadian, it comes with a never-before-released radio sessions LP from 1995:

I'm a casual Molina fan at best but this book excerpt was really good -- might have to check it out...

I'm going to avoid excerpts so I can go in fresh, but I'm excited that you're excited
