Just listened to the 2003 album yesterday for the first time while driving around MT. Had always been familiar but never listened to this guy. Stunning album. Gonna spend some time with this before I dig in further .

Don't write my name on a stone
Bring a Coleman lantern and a radio
Cleveland game and two fishing poles
And watch with me from the shore

Don't know how this thread passed by me all these years but I have some albums queued up for tomorrow.

If you liked the MECo record, poke a little bit more around that time period—Didn’t It Rain was the album before, and What Comes After the Blues is after. Pyramid Electric Co is right in there as well, but it’s a solo album, not full-band.

He didn’t start producing for them until the MECo album, and then he produced the majority of their stuff after that. Didn’t It Rain was a live-in-studio recording like most of the stuff they did with Albini, though.
