Damn. Wonder what happened there. As far as I know, Oteil doesn’t have any kind of permanent gig going…

Jorgen did an amazing job. His role in Gov’t Mule got better and better year after year. He sounds fantastic on the new record. I’ve always said with any chemistry, it’s great if you have a great chemistry in the beginning, but it’s where you take it if you give it time, that really matters. The fact that we were able to do this for 15 years has really allowed the band to reach a point where there’s a lot of borderline telepathy going on on stage. We’re so familiar with each other’s musical vocabulary and mindsets that we’re able to communicate in a really heavy dimensional way. I can’t say enough about his contribution to the band the last 15 years. Having said that, he’s been quiet-quitting the last few years. We all knew it was coming, but it is heartbreaking.

To answer the Kevin Scott question, Kevin is fantastic and we’re hoping it will be more than temporary. We’ve hired him to complete everything that we have on the books at the moment, but I have a really good feeling about him for the future of this band, and I think he shares that feeling as well. Even though it’s announced it’s like he’s here for the summer, we’re all hoping that he’s here for a new chapter.

Apparently The Rolling Stones have a new studio album coming out in September and Andrew Watt is one of the producers.

Yeah, they are really slow walking that. The announcement I think will be on Wednesday. I guess I can forgive Watt for not pushing out a new Pearl Jam record if he was busy with the Stones.

Ha. They’re also pulling Gigaton tricks with billboards and such advertising an upcoming announcement. I am guessing with the hype tour dates will be included.

Wouldn’t the Jimmy Buffett if his generation be Jack Johnson?

There's no Jimmy Buffett of our generation. The guy was massive - restaurants, clothing lines, cruises... Etc

Jack Johnson and Smash mouth guy don't even come close.

Eddie Vedder is our generations’ Jimmy Buffett.

I like my podcast app and have no interest in integrating it into a music app. I like being able to switch between music and podcasts by pressing a single button on the homescreen widgets. It seems like it would be kind of a hassle to do if it was the same app.

Does Spotify even support RSS feeds (so I can listen to patreon podcasts)

Agreed. There are a number of reasons I’ve thought about ditching Spotify, and one of the top ones is them continuously shoving podcasts into my app experience when I’ve never listened to a single one.
