I know the new album was due in June but nothing on the official site or bandcamp is a little suspect :?

they've been uploading album clips/streams every few days and in chronological order to their instagram and youtube starting with von as #sigurros1 and med sud just yesterday as #sigurros5 and so most are taking this as a countdown to #sigurros8 for mid-june as they initially stated.

Saw this band last August - they were pretty good but the show might've been a touch too long at three hours (including intermission).

I didn't find the single remarkable but it's nice, I can't wait for the album

for some reason I was confused when I heard there was a returning member; I thought it was the drummer they let go for rape allegations, so I wasn't happy; but it isn't, so I'm happy!

kjartan is the second best member of the band. they really missed him (as did i).

wasn't Kveikur the first album without him? I loved it but there has been a definite change in direction since he left

First since Von anyway, he departed in 2013 and goddamn it has been a decade already.

this thing starts out pretty strong, with that bridge in Skel being the highlight of the whole album for me. The second half is all one long, monotonous song to me though. There's just not a lot of variety to it. I hope they do what they did with Valtari and release a banger next year.

I agree with all points raised by both of you, so I'm currently listening to the second half on its own as a self-contained unit

the point where Andrá drops to classical guitar, then swells back up again is really lovely

idk, this album is definitely about the tiny little nuances and subtleties, there are no instant grand statements

I really love the chipmunked and reversed vocals on the first song, I kinda wish they'd repeated that idea just once more

Oh I am looking forward to this. The little things laid bare is one of my absolute favorite parts of selected performances from Heima.
