I latched onto If Not Now, When? and Ukulele Songs and (no joke) We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things. because I was having a really bad year in 2011 and they hit me just right.
I used to have an irrational hatred for Incubus. That was like 15 years ago, I don't think I feel that strongly about them anymore. Maybe I should listen to some of their stuff. What I've heard I didn't like, but the last time I listened to them was around 2009-ish, so my opinion about them could have changed.

Similar, I graduated high school in '99 and the people who liked Incubus in my school also like Bob Marley, Phish, Soundtribe Sector 9, that sort of stuff -- which felt a long way off from my Pearl Jams and Mudhoneys. I never gave them a fair shake and wouldn't even know where to begin.

Yeah, and I'm not sure I really want to begin. As you said, they were a far cry from PJ, Mudhoney, Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Fugazi, and all the classic rock I was (still am) into. Maybe I'll check them on Spotify or something.

Exactly one year ago today

I really hated Incubus when I was growing up, but sometimes I find my impressions of those bands change when I get older and have developed some perspective, so I just checked a few quick Youtube videos to see if I'd changed my mind. No such luck.

Haha, funny. I think I'm coming to the same conclusion you did. I've been listening to 'Make Yourself', and three songs into it, I hate it.
