Been going through the discog these past few days. Stumbled across this the other day. Scott ranks the 5 FR long players.

Ranking things - he could have been an RMer.

Wow. Thanks for that. Even talking about his own music he sounds far more like a real person than artists usually do when talking on that subject.
Good read thanks.

Not a problem.

Like I said, I've been going through the albums over the last few days and have made up a mixer of songs in some sort of chronological order. All killer, no filler. Hope someone enjoys it:

^^ That outro is excellent.

Still feeling this one heavily. Been playing the mix I uploaded a few posts above almost non-stop.

It's a bloody good mix though.

The Twilight Sad cover Keep Yourself Warm a week ago. The quality ain't no soundboard but my God the emotions from James Graham got me all teary and shit. Worth a watch this.

Been taking an extended trip through the catalog.

I'd put Scott up there with Jason Molina in terms of great lyrics.

I feel bad that it took his death for me to finally delve deeper into FR.

After listening to each album several times...

1. Painting of a Panic Attack
2. The Winter of Mixed Drinks
3. The Midnight Organ Fight
4. Pedestrian Verse
5. Sing the Greys

I'd probably put the Owl John record at 3 or 4 if ranking it here.

My pal sent me Scott’s final project, Master system. It’s heavy almost grunge. Hooks and melodies all over.
I’m not really all that taken with it but there might be something in it for you guys you should look it up if you haven’t.

That top 5 though are pretty good start to finish.

Glad you got into these guys r2d. He really was a great songwriter. Sad.
