Possibly not that big a difference from Nirvana but I find Courtney to be very similar to Breeders. Cannonball would not stick out an any of Courtney's albums.
Her voice actually reminds me of the girl from Elastica.
I thought she sounded like a cross between Elastica and Nirvana.

I think it's one of the best "small town love songs" I've ever heard. Where Vedder or Springsteen take an almost Hallmark approach to that sort of story, this one just feels so completely real. This line really pushed the song into "true story" territory for me:
Now we've got that percolator / Never made a latte greater / I’m saving 23 dollars a week
