Team LV.

Pixies are little more to me than a set of training wheels for Kim Deal.

One of those bands where it’s easy for me to recognize the genius but never really enjoyed.

I’m sorry guys! There are songs and aspects I love. But they all tend towards the Deal factor (Gigantic, etc)

In 1994, for the holidays I got both the debut Weezer album and Pearl Jam’s Vitalogy (the latter on vinyl). I was really into that Weezer album for quite a while and if I put it on I would still enjoy it...but I never listened to them again after that. Not sure if it was that they were playing to audiences with their backs turned or if there was too much of a self-important vibe from fans on the arrival of Pinkerton but I was turned off somewhere along the line and never came back. I do like that first album though.

I like Pinkerton so much, it hurts a bit every time I hear a new Weezer song.

Similar with me. LOVED the first album. Still do. Never got another Weezer album until Pinkerton like 2 years ago. It’s like I forgot they existed after first album. Maybe Pinkerton songs didn’t get much radio play? I dunno.

Though it's now arguably considered their best work, it was a major flop at the time, and destroyed the Weezer that could've been.

I held on until Make Believe, I think (was that album 5?). I really liked them. But after that, I have just ignored them.

Ok Human is really strong. I'd recommend checking it out.
